EMG launches Caofen electric bike in Australia

Oct 03, 2023

The Caofen range of electric bikes has arrived down under thanks to local distributor EMG. Kicking off with an off-road focused F80 Trail, additional variants are set to be added imminently, once Australian Design Rules approvals have been completed.

Representing a quality offering at an affordable price, the F80 range, which will include a street legal Dual Sport (adventure) and Tarmac iteration from Q3 of this year, is built using aircraft grade materials. It features a lightweight weldless frame.

"The EMG Caofen F80 electric bike represents remarkable quality and performance at a price point very similar to that of 250cc petrol motorcycles, which is a first in the Australian marketplace," EMG CEO Garth Bingley-Pullin said.

With the dirt and off-road motorbike space booming, and increased interest in e-bikes and e-motorcycles, the arrival of the Chinese brand in Australia is not only timely, but makes sense for its local distributor.

"The EMG Caofen F80 electric bike range starts at just $8,999 (up to $11,000) for a high-quality, feature-rich, futuristic design. It has an excellent range of up to 160km and a 0-90 top speed in under 5.0 seconds."

The F80 range can charge in just two hours from a standard 240v wall socket and features a patented thermal management system that provides maintenance-free oil cooling to maintain peak battery health and performance.

A Sydney-based start up, EMG is driven by passion, working with progressive brands who are developing high quality, innovative electric mobility products, hence their partnership with Caofen.

Bikes are available via a direct-to-consumer model, and through a growing traditional dealership network. The F80 range is built to order and can be delivered to the customer's door, or nearest outlet location. You can find out more on their website.
