Eurobike 2022: breaking news from cycling's biggest tech show

Dec 19, 2023

Eurobike, the biggest cycling trade show of the year, is back.

Running from 13 to 15 July 2022 for the world's press and industry pros, followed by two festival days that are open to the public, it's the best place to see new tech, fresh product launches and some seriously cool stuff.

BikeRadar is on the ground once again, bringing you the very latest tech insight and product news from the show.

Following two challenging years affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the event has moved from its previous long-term home in Friedrichshafen to the city of Frankfurt.

We’ll be hands-on with the latest kit and covering all the major product launches.

Plus, we’ll keep you up to speed on all the quirky and non-mainstream stuff that catches our eye too (the 5.42kg Yasujiro Svelte lightweight steel bike from 2019 still keeps us up at night).

Some of the biggest brands in cycling are lined up to attend, including Giant, Merida, FSA, Shimano, Scott, SRAM, Campagnolo, Orbea, Schwalbe, DT Swiss, Continental and many more besides.

Be sure to bookmark this page, and check back here throughout the show to stay fully up to date with all the latest news.

For now, we've archived our content from previous Eurobike shows below.

Sigma is looking to take on the likes of Garmin with two new multisport watches, which come at very competitive prices.

A full suspension road bike, fat bike slick tyres, and a bamboo e-bike? All this and more feature in part two of our round-up of Eurobike oddities.

It's an annual tradition... Here's our first gallery of strange and sometimes lovely things from the many halls of Messe Friedrichshafen.

In a show dominated by new e-bikes and hyper-evolved carbon, we couldn't help but be charmed — and seriously impressed — by this phenomenally light steel machine from Yasujiro.

Boutique suspension outfit Intend was showing off some intriguing new suspension bits, including three forks and a shock with some unique features.

Early Rider offers an amazing looking range of kids bikes, from basic balance bikes all the way up to full-suspension mountain bikes. Unlike many bikes for children, these are properly kitted out, with all the same features you'd find on an adult bike.

Prologo has announced updated versions of its Scratch and Dimension saddles, featuring all sorts of bottom-cosseting technology.

Polygon has announced a new and improved Siskiu which, in its D7 spec, looks like it could be a bit of a bargain.

Hunt has released a beefed up version of its Enduro Wide wheels specifically for e-MTBs.

We're entering the era of halo e-bikes and this posh enduro machine is one of the priciest we've seen yet.

The new Trefecta RDR sticks to many of the principles of the company's first electric bike but does so at a significantly lower price. It's as mad as ever, though.

This seems to be the year of indoor training and Stages is another brand to have jumped on board, with the launch of its rather unimaginatively named StagesBike.

German brand Storck is moving to a direct sales model, and it's launched a whole raft of e-MTBs, e-road bikes and this rather lovely looking gravel machine.

The Venu is a fully featured smartwatch with a proper OLED display. The brand has also refreshed its whole Vivoactive range.

Wilier's latest e-road machine claims to be the lightest yet at just 10.2kg, and it really does look remarkably like a normal, unpowered bike.

Imagine a bottom bracket that could last forever. It sounds like Cane Creek's new Hellbender might come closer to achieving this than ever before, thanks to its unique bearing design.

Orange's new Switch 6 has a 29in front wheel and a 27.5in rear, making it a factory-approved mullet bike. All this, and more Orange range highlights...

Power meter pedals for roadies have been around for a while but MTB, gravel and cyclocross riders haven't had the option until now. SRM is showing off a prototype SPD-compatible power pedal that could be in production in a matter of months.

The Marin Pine Mountain E adds electric assistance to an adventurous hardtail, and this one-off version includes a custom Apidura bag.

SRM's new indoor training bike is fully featured and comes with a price tag that's very... assertive.

Bianchi has gone all-in with its latest range of e-SUV e-MTBS, which have a number of interesting features, not least of which is built-in headlights.

FSA is looking to tempt weight weenie XC and marathon riders away from more niche brands such as Schmolke, with its new KFX range of ultra-light components.

How do you feel about linkage forks? Trust has added the 178mm travel Shout to its range.

The small-wheeled Brompton isn't an obvious basis for an adventure bike, but that's what the brand is calling its latest special edition.

Given the tubeless rumblings across the industry, it doesn't come as any great surprise that Schwalbe is ditching tubulars completely.

ABS has been mandatory on cars for years and it's now common on motorbikes too. German brand Bulls is now offering e-bikes with the tech applied to the front brake, meaning that it should be impossible to lock up the front wheel.

It was inevitable, wasn't it? Helmet maker MET has launched a gravel specific model. Is it just a road helmet with a peak? Maybe. At least it's ponytail-compatible too.

Saddle maker Fizik is teasing the possibility of custom, made-to-measure saddles that could be 3D printed to order, for a perfect posterior match.

Last week it was the most aero, this week it's got a shifting mechanism. CeramicSpeed has dropped another bombshell with the announcement that Driven can now change gear thanks to an ingenious split rear pinion.

Rotor has announced a new highly modular power meter which works across all riding disciplines, fitting all cranks that use the brand's OCP (Optimal Chainring Position) splined interface. Do you like the idea of a single power meter that you can use on your road bike, 'crosser and MTB?

Shimano has announced its 2020 clothing and shoe ranges, and you'll in no way shocked to learn that there are products aimed specifically at gravel riders and e-bikers, among others. Read the full story for all this, some delightfully lairy road shoes, and the latest S-Phyre, Evolve and Sumire kit.

Tan-wall tyre lovers rejoice! Challenge has announced new tubeless versions of its premium 'open tubular' clinchers, plus some quirky tubeless tubulars (yep, you read that right) which are designed to work better with sealant than conventional ones.

Is your city plagued by saddle thieves? Do you hate returning to a wet perch when you park your bike outside in the rain? Would you like a thief deterrent? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the SeatyGo might be for you. It's a saddle with a quick-release mechanism that separates the shell from the rails, leaving the latter attached to your bike.
