Porsche Just Released a Pair of High

Jun 27, 2023

Porsche manufactures some of the nicest cars on the planet, so it's no surprise its e-bikes are also high-end pieces of machinery. Still, the price tag on the company's new electric mountain bike models is nothing to sneeze at.

The company recently revealed its latest e-bike models. The Porsche eBike Cross Performance retails for $14,250, while the Porsche eBike Cross Performance EXC comes in at an even pricier $15,350. Although the standard Cross Performance has already been on the market for two years, the new release represents a significant upgrade.

By comparison, bikes used in the Tour de France usually cost between $13,000 and $16,000, and that competition has major prize money on the line.

So what do you get for all that cash? Well, quite a bit. The standard Cross Performance boasts a Shimano EP-801 motor and 630 WH battery, MT7 brake system from Magura with a forged aluminum four-piston caliper, 12-speed Shimano rear derailleur, Fox 34 Float Factory suspension fork, Crankbrothers Synthesis Enduro Carbon wheel set, and a carbon B220 Flatriser 35 handlebar from Rotwild.

The e-bike's carbon frame is inspired by the Porsche Taycan and Porsche 911. There's also Free Shift technology, which lets you change gears without peddling.

The Cross Performance EXC offers unique colors also seen on Porsche's vehicles, including Star Ruby Neo, Ice Gray Metallic, Mamba Green Metallic, Carmine Red, Shade Green Metallic, and Shark Blue.

The bikes are a collaboration between Porsche and e-bike brand Rotwild, and are available online and at select Porsche retailers. If you've got a few thousand laying around, it doesn't get much better than this.
