'We are extremely sorry for the disruption': Inverness's electric bike service moving to new operator
Cyclists in Inverness hoping to jump on one of the city's shared electric bikes have been facing several days of disruption this week.
Provider Hi-Bike Inverness described it as a technical fault earlier in the week, before offering an updated explanation.
It stated: "Due to the legacy left by Hi-Bike's previous operator, there have been unforeseen issues with the data connections for the eBikes.
"We are currently in the process of moving to a new operator and are working hard to restore all connections.
"We are extremely sorry for the disruption and can safely say that Hi-Bike will open again once this issue is resolved.
"Thanks for your patience."
The scheme works with people buying a membership which will allow you to unlock a bike using a mobile app or membership card/fob.
Some commentators have responded to the update by asking if active subscriptions will be extended by the amount of time the bikes are unavailable.
